Directing Change and Movement

Happiest of seasons and many blessings to you and your home.

During the colder months it can be easy to teeter between balanced steadiness and sluggishness. So, instead of blazing into excess and rage & frustration, ring in some holiday harmony with this:

No waste, LEMON-GINGER LIVER DETOX DRINK

5

Whole Organic Lemons; pith, seeds, and all!

6 -7 knobs

Peeled Organic Ginger

1/4 C

Local, Raw Honey

1/2 G

Spring or Filtered Water

2 Tbsp

Organic Milk Thistle Powder

1 Tbsp

Organic Cardamom Powder

1/8 tsp

*Sea Salt (or your favorite natural salt) *optional but recommended

Blend on high for two minutes, or until all ingredients are combined and smooth. Strain mixture from pulp. Serve iced or hot with a dash of cinnamon and honey. *Take this detox drink up a notch and have this on an empty stomach

Bottle and save in the fridge for one week or freeze in freezer safe jars or ice cube trays for up to 6 months. I love recycled glass bottles for mine!

You can Save pulp in ice cube trays for a refreshing tea or depth in stir fry's and other home cooked meals.

*I soaked the lemons and ginger in baking soda+ spring water prior to preparing this drink to remove as much wax and other growth-retardant chemicals from the ingredients. This makes the medicinal benefits of the beverage most potent and delicious!

After you decide to make and enjoy this healing and delicious drink that tastes "like a warm evening by a campfire in the woods," let me know how you like it and if you tried any herbs or spices outside the recipe!! I bet lavender would be amazing for this, or if you are looking for a good a** kicking, some cayenne pepper!!

The medicine of yellow & bitter food is known to detoxify, cool, and dry the Liver and Gallbladder, both aligned with the emotion of anger. Diving deeper…

Anger drives us forward and compels us to change and grow, as individuals and as a collective.

If we’re taking care and listening to our bodies, this liver awareness can quell excess fire so the Liver can do its job of directing change and movement, instead of blazing into excess and rage.

For all these ^benefits, I’ll willingly enjoy the pith! I hope you do, too.

With love in motion,

Angela
